Walk to End ALS

The Walk to End ALS is the largest volunteer-led fundraiser for ALS Societies across Canada. Family-friendly and fun, it unites Canadians in their desire to put an end to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

The Hazel McCallion Walk for Health is a brand new 2 km and 5 km fundraising event hosted by Trillium Health Partners Foundation taking place on Sunday, June 5, 2022 at Port Credit Memorial Park.

I am a long-time resident of Toronto and a product of University of California, Los Angeles’ leadership program where I was a trustee of my college for a year and sat on the executive board. During my tenure I was able to convince the stake holders of the college to approve the construction of our Art Center for around $11 million. I also lobbied for the new building code for the access of disabled people to the buildings. I am a biomedical research scientist with a bachelor,s degree in Microbiology, Immunology & Molecular Genetics. I have done research on Fronto-temporal dementia (Lou Gehrig’s disease), Multiple Sclerosis and Alzheimer’s Disease. I have completed two years of medical school and currently on sabbatical. Currently I do land assembly and real estate investments. I have been involved in the community since 2007. I was also part of the political campaigns of Sheref Sabawy, Rudy Cuzzetto, Wajid Khan, Azim Rizvi, Dipika Damerla, Iqra Khalid and Ali Naqvi. The organizations I volunteer with are United Canadian Progressive Volunteers, Community Welfare Trust, Unity in the Community, Global Support Services Organization, PSC club, Rotary Club of Mississauga South District 7080, Trillium Hospital, Princess Margaret Hospital, Canadian Blood Services, Mississauga Food Bank and Jirga360. I am also the receiver of Paul Harris leadership award.
